The Process

‘The Process’, in its first year, explored unsettled and confused feelings that arose during the experience of training as an Art Psychotherapist and attending personal therapy. The 'limbs' often contorted in knots and uncomfortable twists, reflecting the difficult process of introspection.

Inevitably referencing Sigmund Freud, Louise Bourgeois and Sarah Lucas, the piece deliberately evokes feelings of repulsion and discomfort. Part brain, part phallus and part intestine, the soft sculpture almost invites touch but elicits fear and misunderstanding.
