Why Art Psychotherapy?

After experiencing the therapeutic and transformative qualities of art personally, I have come to value art as a form of therapy. During a time of difficulty, I found solace in my creativity and in hindsight; my artwork is an insightful vehicle for my expression. I remained focused and driven under pressure in my day to day life, whilst my studio became the framework for a creative safe space and my artwork as a container for emotion. Having experienced and grown self-awareness from this experience I would relish the chance to learn to be a catalyst to help others realise this. The process of developing a visual language that is unique to me was powerful and allowed me to say what could not be said in words. Below is a selection of the art work I created during this time.
